In general, businesses on Facebook create either a Page or a Group. A page is open to anyone, and Facebook users can get information from a page without following it, whereas content in a group is only visible to those who join.
Groups can be great for community building but require more work to maintain, so we're going to create a Facebook Page for Sunnyside Thrift.
Facebook can be a bit more word-y than Instagram, and in lieu of hashtags, we can utilize direct links to outside content.
PROFILE
the profile picture and banner need to be well-composed high-quality images. The profile picture should either be a logo, or a quality picture of the storefront. For the banner, a colorful picture of a clothing rack, or employees smiling behind the counter will do.
Store information needs to be filled out in the profile section, and kept up-to-date. If store hours change, change the information immediately.
CONTENT
Following the 80/20 rule, only 20% of the content should be promotional. These are sale announcements, store announcements, invitations to shop, and other "ad" language. The rest should center on storytelling, from fun finds, to employee spotlights, and more.
Content can be repurposed from Instagram, either manually (remove hashtags) or by syncing the Instagram and Facebook accounts.
INSIGHTS
Utilize Facebook Insights to gauge which content is successful, when your audience is most active, and what audience you are reaching. These are useful tools for content planning and if you decide to run Facebook Ads these can help make those decisions.
